Description:
The purpose of this position is to further the mission of the A.Y.E.S afterschool and summer programming and to deliver curriculum that is relevant to the student’s age and abilities. This position will oversee the daily coordination, supervision, education, and safety of the youth attending the Aspiring Youth Enrichment Services (A.Y.E.S) Summer Program at the assigned site.
Essential Duties
- Deliver approved curriculum to youth with tangible presentation at end of contract period
- Provide mentorship and support to youth participants
- Collect and monitor information as appropriate and provide reports when required
- Maintain accurate and up to date records and work in accordance with organizational guidelines
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Preference given if you’ve completed 48 college units or successfully completed of the instructional aide exam
- Associate’s degree or higher preferred
- Must pass criminal background check
- Must have experience working with youth and a general knowledge of core elementary subjects
- Must possess strong classroom and behavioral management skills
- Must be able to physically able to lift up to 25 pounds and safely supervise children’s activities
- Must be able to communicate openly in a professional manner with students, parents, and community partners
