Description:
The Parks & Recreation Superintendent – Community Centers is a full-time Civil Service position in the Metro Parks and Recreation department. The primary duties include performing administrative and managerial duties involved in directing the daily operations and activities of the Community Recreation Division. This position works varying shifts as needed, which may include nights & weekends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university. Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institution are encouraged to apply.
- Five (5) years of professional experience in a recreational facility operation.
- A valid Driver License.
- Experience in communicating with a large, diverse staff located across the county, as well as with community stakeholders.
- Supervisory or managerial experience, preferably in recreation or community services.
- Demonstrated experience in budget preparation and oversight, including grants and purchasing.
- Experience in planning and implementing recreational programs for diverse populations (youth, adults, seniors).
