Backfield In Motion is an extended learning program dedicated to at-risk, low-income, and students at Metro Nashville Public Schools K -12. It is a 501 © (3) organization. As a staff, we are data driven to ensure that all students are growing and achieving in reading and math, student attendance, and positive behavior while in-school. In the out-of-school time, we push excellence through tutoring, homework help, academic enrichment, STEM, Health and Wellness, and Character Education to empower the whole child. We have several partnerships and corporations for community and school involvements that enhance and support our program.

We're on the path of developing our community superheroes! With a focus on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) our students are provided the space to actually feel every emotion that consumes them. We take them through interactive and reflective activites that allow them to analyze their emotions and find an outlet to positively express those emotions. An additional component to our superhero curriculum puts students in a leadership role that allows them to find the lemons within their community, personal lives, and school and turn it into lemonade.

As the year progresses, we utilize the skills of our staff and community resources to ensure our students are maintaining satisfactory grades.

At NICE, our leadership, staff, and volunteers have experience working with people from diverse communities including refugees, asylees, and other immigrants to the United States. Since 2005, NICE has served over 30,000 people from 72 different countries. The NICE Afterschool Program will not only help you understand how your school works, but how to be successful in school and life. Through homework support, academic instruction, social emotional learning, and youth leadership opportunities, the NICE Afterschool Program is designed to teach young people to trust in themselves, better understand and act on their emotions, discover their strengths, and leverage those strengths.
