Backfield In Motion is an extended learning program dedicated to at-risk, low-income, and students at Metro Nashville Public Schools K -12. It is a 501 © (3) organization. As a staff, we are data driven to ensure that all students are growing and achieving in reading and math, student attendance, and positive behavior while in-school. In the out-of-school time, we push excellence through tutoring, homework help, academic enrichment, STEM, Health and Wellness, and Character Education to empower the whole child. We have several partnerships and corporations for community and school involvements that enhance and support our program.

The NICE after-school program is designed to support English Language Learners. Through homework assistance, academic instruction and tutoring, social emotional learning, youth leadership opportunities, and community building, the NICE after-school Program aims to provide wrap-around support for refugee and immigrant youth.

This NAZA-funded after school program is operated by the Nashville International Center for Empowerment (NICE), a refugee resettlement agency located in south Nashville. At NICE, leadership, staff, and volunteers have extensive experience working with people from diverse communities including refugees, asylees, and other immigrants to the United States. Since 2005, NICE has served over 30,000 people from 72 different countries with culturally-competent programs and case management, NICE's goal is to help refugees & immigrants reach self-sufficiency and thrive for generations to come.
