Lights On Afterschool 2025: NAZA Partner Events


Lights On Afterschool (LOA) is a nationwide event that unites thousands of community organizations and millions of people to celebrate and promote the importance of afterschool programs for youth and communities.

Several NAZA partners will be hosting community events this October to celebrate Lights On Afterschool. Support our out-of-school time programs and youth in Nashville by attending an LOA event near you!

Beech Creek Missionary Baptist Church | 3101 Curtis St | 6:00pm-8:00pm | Beech Creek Ministries
The theme for this event is “Lighting up the Night with STEAM”. The event will feature various STEAM activities, a book giveaway, face painting, games and food. The event is open to families and children of all ages. Click here to view the event flyer.

Cleveland Street Baptist Church | 608 Cleveland St | 4:30pm-6:30pm | Why We Can’t Wait
The event will feature artwork by youth participants, spoken word by Venita Lewis, musical performances by AfricaNashville, and special guest speaker State Senator Charlane Oliver. Click here to view the event flyer.

DuPont Hadley Middle School | 1901 Old Hickory Blvd | 4:30pm-6:00pm | Global Outreach Developments International & Backfield in Motion
This event will highlight what students have learned and accomplished in afterschool programming. The evening will also include STEAM based activities for youth, culinary design, and collaborative activities for families.

Goodlettsville Middle School | 300 S Main St | 5:00pm-6:30pm | Carnegie Writers & Backfield in Motion
This event will be held in collaboration with Goodlettsville Middle School’s Open House Day, and it will include participation from after-school programs and several community organizations. Youth will present a collaborative play to share their creative work and celebrate community engagement. The event will also include team building activities and VR Oculus games.
